09-10 Good News!

Lewis Varsity Acedemic Team won first place in the county at the March 20th meet.

LMS Symphonic Band earned all superior ratings from all four of the FBA judges at their annual exaluation on March 4th.

Mr. Jack Wilson's art students won the Cox Black History Month Poster Contest. Brooke Jones took frist place and Jorden Holland took third.

Lewis Varsity Academic Team tied for first place in total wins/losses but came in second in points in the Academic Tournament on Feb. 20th.

Four Lewis Middle School students recieved recognition for their efforts this basketball season. Kiyana Gee and LeVon Swafford made all conferece and Aubrey West and Cole Nunmaker made all-tournament.

Congratulations to Donell Wells for winning first place and to Amber Eddings for winning second place in the MLK Oratory contest, middle school division, held on January 9th at Fort Walton Beach High School.

Congratulations to the following students who placed in the VFW Patriots Pen Contest. County results: 1st place - Reagan Hobs, 2nd place - Mackenzie Hardy, 3rd place - Jasmine Rameriz. Panhandle Results: 1st place - Reagan Hobbs.

Bre Jensen-Barclay won second place in the Knights of Columbus 7th/8th grade spelling bee.

LMS Trombone player Andrew Royal was selected to the Florida All State Band.

Seven LMS Choral students selected for All State! Congratulations to Stephanie Miller, Rebecca Johnson, Abby Theisen, Jacob Lytehaven, Ashley Vega, Lin Franklin, and Courtney Cole.

Congratulations to Matthew Mason for winning a backpack full of supplies from the VFW Women's Auxillary Post 7674 by completing a quiz on citizenship.

Lewis was awarded a $5000 grant from the National Defense Industrial Association which will give all students more exposure to careers in the areas of math and science.

Lewis volleybal team takes county championship.

Lewis Middle School is a district winner of the 2008/2009 Parent Involvement Award for its submission "Solute to the Military". We love our mentors and volunteers. The award is sponsored by the Florida PTA, the Florida Department of Education, and Washington Mutual/Chase.
